Stage I
Applicants will submit their application form.
Stage II: First Round of Zoom Interview
Applicants will be informed of their progression to Stage II, and a First Round of Zoom Interview will be scheduled and conducted.
Stage III : Letters of Recommendation
Two referees of the applicant, as per information provided in the Stage I application form, will be asked to submit their Letters of Recommendation to Druk Gyalpo’s Institute.
Stage IV: Second Round of Zoom Interview
After the Letters of Recommendation have been received, a Second Round of Zoom Interview will be scheduled and conducted.
Stage V
The final interview with the Director will be scheduled.

Primary Responsibilities
Conduct research with a focus on the philosophy of assessment, assessment validation, and curriculum development to support an evolving system of education.
• Develop, validate and enrich the Bhutan Baccalaureate’s assessment system and learning framework.
• Collaborate with other researchers and teachers to support assessment methods, curriculum development and implementation in line with DGI’s vision
• Keep oneself updated on new developments and research in assessment, pedagogy, curriculum, and other relevant aspects of teaching and learning
• Teach one or more courses (between grades 7 – 12) and contribute in areas in which the applicant can support students’ learning
• Engage effectively with teachers and students in creating a stimulating learning environment
• Actively participate in team meetings, and tangibly contribute to building expertise in assessment, assessment validation and curriculum development
• Proactively pursue and participate in opportunities for enhancing own professional development through involvement in research /teacher development activities, meetings and self-reflection
• Undertake responsibilities for organising and participating in various events at DGI.
Required Qualifications
• Possess a degree or higher
• Have passion for the fields of education and education research
• Be able to work autonomously and be skilled in self-management
• Have prior experience in collaborative work and possess clear written and verbal communication skills
• Be willing to embrace open-ended challenges and work with qualitative objectives
• Be willing to live and work in a residential community near Paro, Bhutan
• Be able to commit to the position for a long-term
• Promote the highest standard of conduct, ethical principles, and integrity in action and behavior
• Be able to comfortably use technology and software in the research process

• Long-term experience in Education Research and /or Curriculum Development is highly desired.

Faculty at Teacher Development Centre
Role Purpose
• Responsible for developing and conducting teacher education and learning programmes that support teacher learning and growth in the School and across the country and worldwide.
• Work closely with teachers in the School to understand their professional development needs and address them effectively.
• Will also teach in the School and plan for learning experiences.
• Work with the Education Research Centre in developing curriculum and certifiable programs for the School teachers and external teachers and other interested participants
Programme Identification and Development
• Collaboratively identify professional development requirements of academic professionals with support from the School and the Education Research Centre.
• Specifically work with the School and the Education Research Centre in developing curriculum and certification related programmes meant for the internal faculty, as well as other institutions.
• Lead the development of relevant programmes to address the needs identified for internal, as well as, external academic professionals.
• Coordinate with the School and Technology team to create effective online programme
• Conduct timely classroom observations and feedback for the internal faculty on their teaching-learning practices and Roadmap.
Delivery
• Deliver programmes for internal/external academic professionals, in line with the programme objectives
• Ensure understanding of the course content by participants, and address their queries
• Align with the needs of the participants, ensure that sessions are interactive and engaging and supported with timely assessment.
Review and Improvement
• Work collaboratively with the School Coordinators/faculty and the Education Development Centre in developing appropriate appraisal and feedback frameworks and mechanisms for all professional development programmes delivered
• Review the collated programme feedback received, reflect on programmes delivered, and consult with the School and Education Research Centre for making improvements

Academic Responsibilities:
Implement The Royal Academy’s curriculum and contribute towards enriching the curriculum further by working collaboratively with other teachers, the Teacher Development Centre, and the Education Research Centre.
Keep oneself updated on new developments and research in pedagogy, curriculum, and other relevant aspects of teaching to enhance professional learning.
Undertake action research projects at The Royal Academy and engage with the teacher community to share results and learnings; and solicit input on challenges faced and areas of improvement.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with other teachers and teacher educators on the preparation and development of teaching and learning that align with the philosophy of The Royal Academy.
Plan, prepare for, and support students in their learning, in line with The Royal Academy’s curriculum.
Engage effectively with students in creating a stimulating learning environment.
Provide written/oral assessments and communicate feedback to enable learning and improvement.
Discuss feedback with students and parents.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain detailed academic records of students.
Undertake responsibilities for organizing and participating in various events at The Royal Academy

Mentorship:
Promote the general well-being of individuals/groups of students assigned to him /her.
Serve as a guide and provide support and feedback to students on an individual basis regarding academic and personal difficulties.
Be responsible for the safety of students at The Royal Academy Engage with parents to understand their perspective, communicate on various aspects of student development, and encourage their involvement and contribution at The Royal Academy.
Professional Development:
Actively participate in domain meetings, and tangibly contribute to building domain area expertise across the domains.
Collaborate with other teachers to support student development and achievement in line with The Royal Academy’s vision.
